Who is AVA?

The Association for Vascular Access (AVA) is an association of healthcare professionals founded in 1985 to promote the emerging vascular access specialty. Today, AVA stands at the forefront of protecting and saving lives via establishing best practices and promoting patient advocacy. Their annual conference draws more than 1,400 vascular access professionals to participate in educational sessions, professional development roundtables, hands-on clinical training, new product demonstrations and plenty of networking.

For the past 8 years AVA has used CadmiumCD’s eventScribe products to deliver educational tools and content to attendees before, during, and after the conference.

What did AVA want to promote?

AVA wanted to make members and attendees aware of a few key features of the conference app:

  • First, they wanted to help attendees find the audience response system (ARS) within the app so that attendees could easily ask speakers questions during sessions.
  • Second, they wanted to help attendees easily record their continuing education (CE) credits using either the app or online tools.
  • Third, they wanted to generally make attendees aware of the conference app and its benefits.

How did AVA promote these features?

AVA’s staff wanted to create something fun and eye-catching that wasn’t too expensive. So they used Powtoon to create two video slideshows explaining to attendees step-by-step how to (1) access ARS in eventScribe, and (2) use eventScribe to track CE credits. Take a look:
